I was asked to design a logo from my sister for handball, i went down the route of david carson and used overlaying of type, but im also altering it, im thinking of making the shape of a hand out of the word hand, and then a ball shape, made with the word ball.
Above is the image, here i just used the word handball and made that into the shape of a circle
Below that is a slightly improved where i have put an image of a ball there so that you can see the outline which i feel gives the text texture.
I like your idea of making the hand a hand and ball a ball!! wicked
